Most vivid hair colour needs pre-lightened hair to show up. These are the shades in our range that are pigmented deeply enough to read on natural or dyed dark hair without bleaching first. The result is a tint and a shift in tone rather than a full colour change, which is the honest trade-off for skipping the bleach.

What You Get Without Pre-Lightening

On dark hair these shades show as a rich cast that catches in daylight and under direct light, strongest where your hair is naturally lightest. They will not lift your base colour, and they will not cover white or grey hair. If you want the shade to read as it does on the bottle, you will need to bleach first.

How to Apply

Apply to clean, towel-dried hair with the gloves included, work it through in sections, and leave for 15 to 30 minutes. Longer will not deepen the result much, and our dyes contain no developer, so leaving them on will not damage your hair. Patch test 48 hours before you colour.
